SISS Quicksilver printable mirror effect - Monday 5th January 2009

Approved by largest supplier to leisure industry in Europe.

Quicksilver is a solvent based flatbed screen printing ink. It produces eye-catching,
decorative mirror effects and can offer an economic alternative to foil blocking or film
metallization.

After extensive testing, Screenprint has chosen SISS Quicksilver printable mirror for their production requirements.
Neil Marsland - Production Manager explains “the printability and finished effect from Quicksilver is by far the best we have experienced. It has helped us win new business with creative designs in a very competitive market place”.

General
Quicksilver is used to produce mirror effects on a range of
transparent plastic substrates, particularly polyester and polycarbonate, using the
process of flatbed screen printing. End applications include high quality point of sale
displays and graphics for luxury consumer goods like perfumes, fashion wear and
spirits.
Quicksilver is potentially suitable for use in Film Insert Molding

Update on REACH - Monday 22nd December 2008

Regulation EC 1907/2006 the Regulation, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)

An update on our position with respect to REACH.

SISS is not a manufacturer as far as REACH is concerned. Therefore we will be relying on our suppliers further up the supply chain to preregister substances, where appropriate. We have been in contact with all our suppliers on this matter and so far, believe that there will be no issues concerning supply. SISS does not use any substance considered to be of “very high concern” under REACH.

We will be contacting them again after 30 November 2008, the final date for preregistration, to seek confirmation of preregistration.

I will write again once we have all of our suppliers’ declarations to confirm that, as expected, all of our raw materials, where appropriate, have been preregistered.
